“We were awakened by a low growling sound in the night. Two yellow eyes shown through the darkness of the jungle with murderous intent. My compatriots unsheathed their blades, their backs up against the large tree underneath which we had set up camp. I pulled out the small satchel we had found in the dungeon, and from it, produced a small biscuit, inlaid with a small rune. I tossed it into the darkness. Chewing could be heard, followed by ‘Ooh, tasty.’ The eyes faded back into the darkness, and we remained unbothered until dawn.”
When first discovered, the Beast Biscuits are found in a cloth bag containing 2 plus 1d4 biscuits.
You can use an action to attempt to feed one of these biscuits to a beast within 30 feet of you. You can do so by either feeding the beast by hand or tossing it the biscuit. The beast must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. On a failed saving throw, all animal handling checks you make against the beast are done so with advantage.
If you or your party were currently engaged in combat with the beast, it no longer considers you or your party hostile.
Lastly, you gain the benefits of the Speak With Animals spell, but only with the beast that ate the biscuit.
All of these effects last for one hour or until you or your companions do anything harmful to the beast or its allies. On a successful saving throw, nothing happens and the biscuit can be recovered.
